Get the creative edge you need to gain work in the highly competitive music industry

The Music industry offers lots of exciting opportunities and studying Music at our college will not only give you the competitive edge, but will also provide you with the practical skillset and experience required to make the all-important jump into employment.

Careers

Jobs in this industry are expected to grow and as Music graduate, you could go into a variety of careers. Could you see yourself working as a studio session musician, performer or composer? What about a tour manager, music promoter or sound engineer? These are just some of the exciting roles a Music course could lead to.

What is a HNC/D?

HNCs and HNDs are work related, internationally recognised undergraduate qualifications. They focus on ‘learning by doing’ and give you the skills you can use in a particular job. Highly valued by employers, they cost significantly less than equivalent courses at university and you have the added benefit of flexibility rather than making a three or four year commitment.

You start off studying the HNC (Level 4) for one year before progressing on to the HND (Level 5) for a further year.

Gain a full BA (Hons)!

Solent UniversityHNCs and HNDs are a great stepping stone to Higher Education. HNCs allow entry into the second year of a degree, while HNDs can allow entry into the second or third year of a degree.

After completing your HND with us, you could top up your qualification to a full BA (Hons) at Solent University.

Your options include:

  • BA (Hons) Popular Music Production
  • BA (Hons) Popular Music Performance and Production
  • BA (Hons) Digital Music

“Solent University is delighted to have signed a Progression Agreement with Bournemouth & Poole College. The agreement recognises the excellent teaching and learning taking place at the College with regards to their HNC and HND offering, and will allow students on certain courses to ‘top-up’ their qualification to a full Batchelor’s degree at Solent. We look forward to working with the College going forward, and paving the way for closer collaboration between our two institutions.” Rhys Phillips, UK Student Recruitment, Events and Enquiries Manager, Solent University
