The program will introduce you to the fashion industry and the various stages a designer follows. Starting with the initial research and interpreting of the fashion designer catwalk trends a year before they appear in store or on-line. You will learn how colour palettes are formulated from designer collections and from colour, mood and trend boards. Additionally, you will learn about fabric and garment construction, clothing specifications - sizing, grading, and fitting, garment design / sketching and range building, publicity and marketing and fashion styling.

The emphasis of the course is on you researching and designing an original item of clothing.
