The Dorset Art Prize

Dorset Art Prize - Entries are now closed!

Bournemouth & Poole College are proud to host the eighth annual instalment of the Dorset Art Prize.

The Dorset Art Prize is free to enter and has a number of categories including adults and schools' prizes.

Whether you're an emerging artist, a student studying Art or just someone with a passion for the creative, the Dorset Art Prize is a great opportunity to showcase your work to a wider audience.

The Dorset Art Prize was established by the College in 2014, with the support of Dorset Community Foundation. The key objective of the Prize is to actively engage with all aspects of the community through encouraging and helping to create a broader, more inclusive vision for art locally.

Theme for 2021- Narrative
The theme for this year’s Dorset Art Prize is Narrative.
Narrative is found in all forms of art and entertainment. From literature, music and theatre to film, video games and visual arts, narrative is at the heart of human creativity.
Entrants are encouraged to interpret and explore this theme in broad and figurative ways, as well as more literal considerations on the theme.
All shortlisted art work will be showcased in Poole Museum, where the final will take place in November, and will be on display for the public to see.
