Careers
As you'll gain experience in subjects as diverse as Business Law, IT, Accounting and Marketing, studying a Business and Management course could open doors in other sectors including Tourism, the Public Sectors, NHS and Education. Essentially you could work in any industry that incorporates any of these elements in running and managing their organisations.
What is a HNC/D?
HNCs and HNDs are work related, internationally recognised undergraduate qualifications. They focus on ‘learning by doing’ and give you the skills you can use in a particular job. Highly valued by employers, they cost significantly less than equivalent courses at university and you have the added benefit of flexibility rather than making a three or four year commitment.

Gain a full BA (Hons)!
HNCs and HNDs are a great stepping stone to Higher Education. HNCs allow entry into the second year of a degree, while HNDs can allow entry into the second or third year of a degree.
“Solent University is delighted to have signed a Progression Agreement with Bournemouth & Poole College. The agreement recognises the excellent teaching and learning taking place at the College with regards to their HNC and HND offering, and will allow students on certain courses to ‘top-up’ their qualification to a full Batchelor’s degree at Solent. We look forward to working with the College going forward, and paving the way for closer collaboration between our two institutions.”
Rhys Phillips, UK Student Recruitment, Events and Enquiries Manager, Solent University
