This course is designed to improve your reading, writing and speaking & listening skills.  You will work towards achieving a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification, which is seen as the equivalent of a pass at GCSE and is valued by HE institutions and employers.

What courses can I do after this? 

Students are able to work up to Level 2 (which is generally seen as the equivalent to a pass at GCSE). Students are then able to progress to other College courses and beyond, once they have reached this level. 

What do I need to apply

To do this course you should have... 

You will need to be aged 19 at the start of the course.

You will need a good basic knowledge of English, as this course will focus on technical skills such as grammar, spelling and vocabulary.  

All prospective students need to take an assessment before commencing this course.
