You will receive a certificate of merit in recognition for your input.
Meet the Principal
You’ll no doubt see our College Principal, Diane Grannell, around campus. She holds regular walk-in sessions, so you can just turn up to have a chat and share your opinions about your College.
Or if you want a quick answer, simply contact Diane with a text, or email firstname.lastname@example.org and she’ll get back to you.
Elected every autumn, Student Reps represent the views of the other students on their course. Each term they meet members of the College Management Team and share feedback about all aspects of student life – from how courses are taught to how facilities could be improved.
If you’re interested, you can put yourself forward in your first term at The College.
Our Student Ambassadors have a fairly high profile around college. The role sees them attend open evenings, school liaison visits and careers events. They can also support staff recruitment by participating on interview panels and work with the college’s Quality Team for lesson observations of teaching staff.
Each year new Student Ambassadors are recruited to join the programme, and anyone is welcome to apply. It’s a great way to meet new people from other areas of The College and to get more involved in college life.
Every year over 100 students meet for a day with a single aim – to help us improve The College. This is our opportunity to ask you how we can make your student experience better.
You might give feedback on the latest advertising campaign, or help us to shape the way we run your lessons. Your ideas make a real difference.
Our Students’ Union exists to represent, entertain and enrich the lives of all students studying at the College. It ensures that student opinions are heard and acted upon swiftly. At the centre of this is the Exec Committee, made up of elected student volunteers who run the Union as the voice of our students.
This is an amazing chance to shape what is fast becoming one of the best Further Education Students’ Unions in the country!
The College Board
If you want to get involved in the decision-making process and would like to take an active part in shaping The College’s future strategy, this is your chance. Our college is overseen by a Board of Governors made up of local people from across the community, plus the Principal, an elected staff member and two elected student members.
Each year our students elect two second-year students to the Board, who serve for a term of one year. They represent the student voice at The College, ensuring we always put our students' point of view at the heart of our senior level decision-making.
