What courses can I do after this?
You can progress to a Level 1 or 2 Full-Time course in a core trade area such as Bricklaying, Carpentry or Plastering.
You could apply for a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Bricklaying or Carpentry if you find a suitable employer to support you.
You could enter the Construction Industry as a Full-Time worker in a General Builder, Improver or Labourer role.
If you pass your GCSEs in maths and English to Grade 4 you could apply for a Level 2 Full-Time Plumbing or Electrical Installations course or potentially a T-Level in Construction/Built Environment.
What jobs can I get?
You could enter the Construction Industry as a Full-Time worker in a General Builder, Improver or Labourer role.
These roles could lead to jobs such as Carpenter, Bricklayer, Plasterer, Ground Worker or General Builder.
What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
You will need to achieve GCSEs grades D-G including English and maths grades 3-1 (formerly D-G). Alternatively, successful completion of a Foundation Entry Level 3 qualification and have achieved an Entry Level 3 Functional Skill in English and maths.
What about work experience?
You will be expected to complete 30 hours of Work Related Experience including site visits, guest speakers and actual site work experience if available.

This course offers the chance to try out different construction trade skills and become familiar with the demands of the construction industry. It is the ideal first step into construction and building and will give learners the experience and knowledge to chose their next route of progression.
