If you are not sure which career, course or Apprenticeship to choose, they can help you look at the options and support you to make the right choice for you. They can support you to progress to the next level course within College, as well as help you to make decisions about your options after College such as, Higher Education, Apprenticeships and starting your career.

The team is Matrix accredited which ensures the Careers Advice and Guidance you receive will be impartial covering the full range of options to meet your career development and planning.

Pippa Allner, Personal Development Manager (Careers Leader)

Pippa is the named Careers Leader across The College and manages the team of Careers Advisers and Employability Skills Coaches, making sure that all students receive high quality impartial Careers Advice and Guidance. Pippa is also responsible for ensuring that there is a whole college approach, to the delivery of Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance. Pippa is also a qualified Careers Adviser with over 14 years’ experience within the Career Development profession.

Laura Collins - Careers Advice and Guidance Adviser
Laura started as a Careers Adviser at Bournemouth & Poole College in 2017. She qualified as a Careers Adviser in 2011 and she continued to progress her career by achieving a Masters in Careers Guidance in 2013. Since qualifying, Laura has worked with young people in the community in Kent, and in colleges in Dorset. As a child Laura wanted to be a vet but work experience put her off this! (The placement was still a useful experience as it helped her get on the right path.) Laura enjoys supporting students to reach their potential.
Amy Raymond - Careers Advice and Guidance Adviser
Amy joined Bournemouth and Poole College as a Careers Adviser in February 2021. Amy is Level 6 qualified (Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development) and has worked as a Careers Adviser since 2007. Amy discovered her passion for working with young people during her Music Performance studies at university when running a song recording project in a local school. Amy has experience of working in a variety of settings including referral units, mainstream and special needs schools across Poole and Dorset. Amy enjoys supporting students as individuals, in overcoming barriers and making successful career transitions. 
Laura Ryder - Careers Advice and Guidance Adviser
Laura has been a Career Adviser at Bournemouth & Poole College since 2020.  She is a qualified Career Adviser with a Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development and has over 12 years experience supporting young people and adults in a range of educational and community based settings. Laura had planned a career in the media but after trying some voluntary work placements and completing a positive mental attitude course, she reassessed what was most valuable and fulfilling to her and decided to pursue a career supporting others. Laura is passionate about helping people identify the right path for them, and empowering people to make steps towards a more positive future.
