"An Apprenticeship is how I've made my career."

I finished my A levels and realised University wasn’t for me. I knew I wanted to go into Marketing and ICT, but didn’t know how to. After a visit to The College, I decided to apply for a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship at Redweb.

It was a tough assessment day and I couldn't believe it when I was offered the job.  The Apprenticeship has given me lots of skills from studying at college once a week which I was able to use in my job. I am now  excited to be in a full time position at Redweb.

redweb logo The Apprenticeship allowed me to develop my confidence which is great for my current role as I organise events such as the award winning Digital Wave. I manage the branding, app and website for the event, updating images, news stories and I also get involved in PR too.

I love the people I work with, it’s the best part of my job. I work in a close knit yet fun agency. The way we dress, places we work (A Narnia room) is all part of the fun. Along with a break out area, table tennis and a bar.

You may think being an Apprentice is easy but it is very hard work. At college you have to learn skills that you put into practice at work. To be an Apprentice, you must be passionate, hardworking and willing to learn. Redweb look for these traits and in return they want their Apprentices to enjoy learning and working, giving them lots of opportunities to do so.

I would recommend an Apprenticeship to everybody! I love telling students to look into Apprenticeships. University gets pushed at school, I wish they pushed Apprenticeships because that’s how I’ve made my career.
