The students raised money for Operation Christmas Child through the charity - Samaritan's Purse.
Foundation Studies students on the STEPS programme at Bournemouth & Poole College got into the Christmas spirit this year and did some fantastic work for charity. They produced Christmas shoe boxes as part of a project for Operation Christmas Child through the charity - Samaritan's Purse.
They organised and ran an Autumn Fayre to raise money so that they could buy things to go in the boxes. They also helped to run stalls, made cakes and served drinks for staff and students.
Following the fayre, they had 3 weeks to put together the boxes and fill them with toys, sweets and toiletry items. They also made a Christmas card which had a group photo included and a copy was put in each box.
In November volunteers from the organisation came to the college to collect them. The students made up 50 boxes which will find their way to children between the years of 2 - 14 in war torn or deprived countries.
