Hairdressing

Eva Pisanu, Hairdressing student at Bournemouth & Poole College"I’d been thinking of studying Hairdressing for many years, and with my daughter recently starting school, I decided to begin my course at the College as it seemed like the perfect time to start learning.

There are so many fun parts to the course, but I’ve really enjoyed learning all about hair colouring. There is so much science which goes into the art of hair colouring you don’t realise, whether it is matching colours or mixing colours and ratios!

"With the current Level 2 qualification I am studying for, I would be able to go straight into a salon as a junior hairdresser."

However my ambition is to be a fully qualified self-employed hairdresser, and I definitely intend to go on to study the Level 3 Hairdressing course.

I’m really encouraged by my tutors, who are so knowledgeable about the industry. They’ve been there and done it, with many of them having owned their own salons. There is also a great dynamic amongst the students in our class, we all get on really well, so the learning is made that much more enjoyable.
