Apprenticeships at Bournemouth and Poole College: the hotel apprenticeship journey at Marsham Court Hotel

Simon Scarborough, Head of Training and Development at the renowned Marsham Court Hotel on the East Cliff of Bournemouth, has had a long history of working with Bournemouth and Poole College and taking on apprentices for the hospitality industry. The Marsham Court Hotel, even before Simon’s leadership, has been taking apprentices from the college for over 25 years.

Baccello Wine and Cicchetti bar in Christchurch is a welcome surprise in the South West of Dorset. The local hidden gem, located amid the High Street in Christchurch, is home to a specialist fine wine dining experience - from two particular regions of Italy - Venice and Piedmont. And its esteemed owner – Yuanyi Li – was first trained at Bournemouth and Poole College.

Hundreds of students from schools and colleges across BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole) area attended the Careers and Apprenticeships Show (CAS) on Thursday, 14th March 2024. The show is a two-year event held to help students with their career path choices for the future – in terms of their studies. Along with IMI Thompson Valves, Bournemouth and Poole College were a headline sponsor.
