Bournemouth & Poole College has pledged to raise £2,000 for the Trussell Trust as part of the national ‘FE Food Bank Friday’ campaign.
Backed by more than 20 colleges across the country, the aim of the campaign is for further education providers to come together to raise awareness of the impact that COVID-19 is having on foodbanks, and the corresponding decline of donations.
Bournemouth Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust’s network of foodbanks and will be one of many that will benefit from the money raised by the College.

After careful consideration, The College has decided not to offer A-level courses to new applicants from the 2020/2021 academic year.
The College constantly reviews its academic offer to ensure the best fit with demand, local conditions and employer need. As such, the decision has been taken to focus on the core offer of 16-18 Technical and professional provision and apprenticeships, as well as our expanding adult professional and skills programmes.
Following the success of our previous Q&A session, we are hosting a live Facebook Apprenticeship Q&A session with our Commercial Director on Wednesday 6th May at 1pm.
Matt Butcher will be on hand to answer any questions that people have on Apprenticeships, to give clarity on how the College will continue to facilitate placements during the Coronavirus crisis, and to provide some reassurance for students and parents.
