2020 got off to an exciting start in Bournemouth & Poole College’s Hairdressing department with a week packed full of activities! Leading industry professionals visited the College, providing demonstrations, offering advice and inspiring students to aim high for their future careers. 

The week started with a series of interactive team building activities for the College’s Level 2 and 3 Hairdressing students. Students developed their teamwork and communication skills, including working together to make beauty treatment.

Bournemouth & Poole College is celebrating after seeing a continual rise in the number of young people applying for Apprenticeships in Dorset.

At the College, applications from 16-18 year olds have risen by 12%. This bucks a trend of an 8% decrease in uptake year-on-year on a national level. Meanwhile, in the over-19s age bracket, there has been a 19% increase year-on-year at the College for admissions to Apprenticeship courses.
