You will study a mix of practical and theory across the course. For example, you’ll learn how to master the art of Filmmaking, Recording, Editing and mixing sound for Video Production, techniques like ADR and Foley, creating sound effects, using professional microphones and industry-standard software. As well as how to analyse the work of other filmmakers.

You’ll also learn a lot of transferable skills, such as communication and interpersonal skills. You will be assessed on all of your practical knowledge, from Film and Video Editing to Animation and Photography. You’ll get real work experience, working to live briefs from local companies. Many of our qualifications include an external assessment.

What courses can I do after this? 

Progression to Higher Education with our own 3D (Computer-Generated Image) CGi course as well as other University options. or to employment in a wide range of industries including Television, Radio, Print and Media Technologies, Public Relations or Marketing.

You will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (formerly A*-C) including English and Maths.

Course Content 

Bournemouth and Poole College is an approved centre for the UAL Awarding Body and this course combines all aspects of media including Video, Audio, Animation and 3D along with media industries and Photography. At the end of the first year, you will achieve a UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media and Technology, with the option to enrol onto the UAL Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Year 2)
