College film project culminates in exclusive private film premiere

An exciting large-scale short film project that has involved over 60 students on Bournemouth & Poole College’s fantastic UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology course is coming to a close this week with the premiere of a fantastic short-film.

Second year students on the media course at The College have been working in conjunction with Dorset Wildlife Trust and St Peter’s Church in Bournemouth on a film based on Mary Shelley’s The Last Man. Dorset Wildlife Trust, who have recently begun looking after the grounds of St Peter’s Church, approached The College’s Media department to get the ball rolling on this exciting project.

Students worked in groups, with some focusing on filming, while others worked specifically on animating the film’s introductory sequence or on post-production including the use of visual effects and CGI. The project, which involved the whole year group, has been a fantastic experience for students.

The premiere of the film is due to take place at a private event on Friday 29th April 2022 at The Jellicoe Theatre.
