T Levels
T levels are a technical qualification for 16–18-year-olds and are equivalent to 3 A levels, therefore students earn UCAS points. Students will spend 80% of their time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement across the two-year course, to equip them with the knowledge and skills companies are looking for.
We have everything in place to ensure that when you partner with us, offering T Level placements to Bournemouth and Poole College students, it is a success for all parties involved. Our team of Industry Placement Advisors are ready to help with finding a suitable placement student, completing the required onboarding process and providing support through the student’s studies.
The student will be in your workplace for at least 20% of their training to learn from you and your staff about the range of jobs and activities available. You will not be required to undertake any classroom teaching.
Employers have reported that many young people leave education without the basic employability skills that are needed to join the workplace. These include skills such as time-keeping, team work and the ability to work confidently with people. This qualification allows employers to develop these skills and sector specific capabilities for students, while having the opportunity to assess their skill set.

The new T Level Employer Support Fund (ESF) offers financial support to help cover the essential costs of hosting T Level industry placement students.
Funding is available for placements starting between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2027.
Who can apply?
Health T Level placements
Employers of all sizes hosting students on a Health T Level industry placement may be eligible for funding.
Other T Level placements at Bournemouth and Poole College
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) hosting students on eligible T Level courses may also qualify.
