Your NEW Compass Building: Opening September 2026!
We are thrilled to welcome both current and new students to the brand-new Compass building at our Bournemouth campus, opening in September 2026.
The building has been designed to support the future of learning and innovation in the region representing a major investment in education and opportunity. Funded through a £multimillion investment from the Department for Education, the state-of-the-art facility has been created to be future-proofed, innovative and inspiring.
Opening to students from September 2026, the Compass Building will provide an advanced, high-tech teaching environment designed to inspire students across a range of exciting subjects:
- Business
- Catering and Hospitality
- Digital and Computing
- Hair and Beauty
- Media
- Sport
- Travel and Tourism
In addition to its advanced teaching facilities, the building will offer a range of amenities designed to benefit both students and the wider community. These will include the new Escoffier ‘fine-dining’ restaurant and professional salons for hair, beauty and nails. Many of the teaching rooms are now equipped to match the best outcomes in teaching, including a full travel suite for Travel and Tourism and Hospitality students, which replicate a real departure lounge in an airport.
The sports suite of equipment has an all-inclusive, hands-on climbing wall (manufactured by ‘Kong Climbing’) which boasts five routes, and has fully-integrated automatic and manual systems for climbing experiences. The suite is only matched by operational fit rooms equipped with the most up-to-date industry equipment.
Alongside this, heritage restoration works are taking place on the Grade II-listed clock tower. This iconic structure has undergone sensitive repairs to preserve its historic character, while upgrading its functionality for future use. This has included brand new masonry to represent its original classical style.
The restored façade of the clock tower will mark a major milestone in the redevelopment of the site.
