The new cohort of Digital and Computing students at Bournemouth and Poole College spent the day at Paultons Park on Friday, 11 September.  This enrichment day brought together 140 students from across the curriculum, allowing everyone to spend time with their classmates, meet students from other courses, and get to know the teaching team in a relaxed environment.

Teachers told students attending that: “College is about more than qualifications. Feeling that you belong, having friends around you and being comfortable with the people on your course can make a huge difference to your college experience.”

Student, Leo, studying on the T Level Digital Support and Security course, said: “My entire class attended last year, and as I’m a second year student this was my second time. It really helps to engage people for the first time meeting people. People grouped and went around together and I grouped with eight people. We went on everything at least twice, including Drakon (an inverting rollercoaster). I managed to stay completely dry the whole time, and so did all of us, somehow!”

He added: “There were two people from my course from last year. Our group all got on really well. I became friends with them and still talk to them since the trip.”
