Outstanding facilities

Marine is a fast growing industry along the coast and we are one of the only providers of Marine training in the local area.

Between them, the College's Marine team have more than a century of experience in the boat construction and marine engineering industries. As experts in their field, they are able to teach all aspects of boatbuilding with a focus on engineering, craftsmanship, electrics and design work.

We have a purpose-built Marine Technology Centre in Poole and state-of-the-art industry sponsored equipment.  Our courses are very hands-on and have been designed to match industry requirements.

We work with Sunseeker International, the RNLI, Poole Marine Services, Holes Bay Marine and Parkstone Yacht Club, the British Marine Federation and others to regularly review and update our courses to ensure they match the needs of local businesses.

We offer qualifications in many subject areas including:

  • Marine Engineering
  • Marine Electrical
  • Boat Building
  • Apprenticeships
  • Higher National Certificates (HNC)

You’ll develop the skills and knowledge to go into a wide variety of areas, such as super yacht manufacture, boat-building, marine maintenance or repair/electrical/propulsion engineering. Once a fully qualified Marine Engineer, you could earn up to £32,000 a year.
