On Tuesday 3rd March, Bournemouth & Poole College hosted the South West regional heat of Johnstone’s Trade Young Painter of the Year. 

Comprised of seven regional heats held up and down the country, the Johnstone’s Trade Young Painter of the Year Competition is a prestigious painting and decorating competition which celebrates young talent.

Bournemouth & Poole College is delighted to announce that its Electrical Department was runner-up in the AAC Apprenticeship Awards’ Construction Apprenticeship Provider of the year.

With achievement rates 50% above the national average, our Electrical Department has been one of the top Apprenticeship providers for the last few years. The team’s infectious ambition to achieve excellence is rooted in wanting the best for their apprentices and employers.

Bournemouth & Poole College are proud to host the seventh annual Dorset Art Prize, with the support of the Dorset Community Foundation Trust, which aims to reward and celebrate art from across Dorset. 

Free to enter, the Dorset Art Prize has a number of categories to allow emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience. Students from Year 10 upwards and adults could win up to £1,000 in prize money, whilst the winning Community Group and School could each win £500!

A team of Sixth Form students from Bournemouth & Poole College have succeeded in winning a place in the semi-finals of the Student Investor Challenge, organised by the London Institute of Banking & Finance. 

Students Gabriel Baraldi, Thomas Davies, Aidan Barker and Enya Kendall, under the team name ‘LIQDAS’, took part in the Student Investor Challenge, an online investment simulation for students ages 14 to 19 years old. The competition challenges teams of students to invest virtual money on the London Stock Exchange and trade stocks and shares to make a profit.
