The college is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its apprentices at the Dorset Apprenticeship Awards 2025. The event honoured students for their dedication, skill, and pursuit of excellence, with several apprentices from the college reaching the finals — a clear reflection of the high-quality training and exceptional talent nurtured at the institution.

As the region’s largest apprenticeship provider, Bournemouth and Poole College was well represented at the prestigious awards ceremony, held on 15th May and hosted by Dorset Chamber and the Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network (DSTPN), with sponsorship from Superior. The event brought together leading employers and training providers to recognise the contribution of apprentices across Dorset.

A particular highlight of the evening was Morgan Simpson, a hospitality apprentice at Nusara Thai Fire Kitchen, who was named Dorset Intermediate Apprentice of the Year. Morgan’s dedication to his craft, consistent academic excellence, and impressive customer service – praised in numerous TripAdvisor reviews – earned him this well-deserved recognition.

In addition to Morgan’s success, several other Bournemouth and Poole College apprentices were honoured as finalists in their categories:

  • Jake Thomas (Heatric) – Finalist, Intermediate Apprentice of the Year
  • Bethany Barber (Ferndown Plus) – Finalist, Supported Internship Award
  • Isabelle Kearnan (Motion Control Products) – Finalist, Advanced Level Apprenticeship Award
  • Cassidy Maidment (Charter Tech) – Finalist, Higher Level Apprenticeship Award

These students exemplify not only professional competence but also personal growth, resilience, and a strong commitment to their chosen fields. Their achievements underscore the vital role apprenticeships play in developing future talent and strengthening the local workforce.

Bournemouth and Poole College congratulates all winners and finalists, and reaffirms its commitment to empowering learners to achieve their full potential and make lasting contributions to their industries.
