Excitement is growing among the Performing Arts staff and students at The Bournemouth & Poole College, site of the new Jellicoe Theatre. The first public production at the new theatre will be a version of Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Hound of the Baskervilles”, scheduled for mid-September.

The new theatre is part of the remarkable new £11 million teaching complex, built at the North Road site Poole in the last 18 months by construction company Willmott Dixon.

A Level Results Day at The Bournemouth & Poole College was extra special for 20-year-old student Brenda Vescance Caroprese.

Brenda, who was born in Colombia and has been studying at the college for more than three years, opened her brown envelope to find she had secured herself an A in Biology, B in Chemistry and a B in Psychology. This meant she had a passport to a Medical Sciences degree course at Exeter University.

Graphic design students from The Bournemouth & Poole College are rising to an unusual challenge this summer. The 12 talented students have been invited to create a mural to decorate a high profile perimeter fence around a £14.5 million building project for a fantastic new Audi sales and car care terminal in Poole.

The students and two tutors involved in the project are already planning to transform the dull security hoardings around a building site into what they hope will be a real head turner.

Bournemouth & Poole College apprentices Stuart Mole and Ben Mosley have fast tracked their way to becoming qualified design engineers with Ishida Europe, a leading supplier of food packaging machines & equipment.

Both young men have raced through their Level 1 Engineering courses and are now about to complete Level 3 before transferring to their HNC qualifications.

Students will be starting the new college year with classrooms equipped with 30 state-of-the-art 84” Clevertouch Plus interactive screens, supplied and installed by Hugh Symons AV. They are front runners in the competitive market for interactive teaching technology for colleges and universities.
