As the world remembers one hundred years since the end of the First World War, Bournemouth & Poole College catering students have been raising money for the Poppy campaign by preparing and selling cakes and biscuits to fellow students, staff and the general public.

Food teachers from local schools attended a special networking event at the college’s fine dining restaurant; The Escoffier. The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event, is designed to enable teachers to take part in up-skilling activities and this specific one was to sample food creations produced by college students.
Bournemouth & Poole College has been chosen to run an innovative, government-funded project aiming to bring industry and the further education (FE) sector together for the benefit of students. The College, which has sites in Lansdowne in Bournemouth, and Fulcrum and North Road in Poole, is one of just 20 colleges and FE providers across the UK to be selected to run a Strand 2 project as part of the national Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme.
One of the largest arts prizes outside London has once again attracted outstanding submissions. This year Bournemouth & Poole College teamed up with Poole Museum to present the 5th Dorset Arts Prize. Created to actively engage the community and help promote a broader, more inclusive vision for the arts locally, the competition was open to all Dorset artists, designers and makers.
Earlier this month Bournemouth & Poole College students again excelled as the College secured its fourth consecutive award at a national contest which took place during the prestigious annual British Marine Electrical and Electronics Association (BMEEA) national conference, held at the Novotel in Southampton.
