Former College student becomes ambassador of the new BH Area Hospitality Association

Former Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Hospitality and Events student, Jake Poynter has become an ambassador for the new BH Area Hospitality Association (BAHA).

The (BAHA) represents some of the finest hotels and accommodation in the country and all levy-paying hotels in Bournemouth are now part of the initiative. Their main aim is to develop hospitality and tourism within the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch areas

Jake, who now works at the Captain’s Club Hotel and Spa as Food and Beverage Manager has utilised the knowledge and skills he developed as part of his course in Business Enterprise, Event Management, Finance, Food and Drink Organisation, Human Resource, Contemporary Cuisine and Supervisory Skills to carve out his successful career.

Starting out glass collecting at The Boathouse Christchurch, Jake was soon promoted to manager of their sister restaurant The Beachhouse before moving into his current role at the Captain’s Club Hotel and Spa.

The ambassador role further cements Jakes commitment to the industry after being awarded the runner up in the Management Student of the Year by the Institute of Hospitality, UK, Southern Branch in May 2019
