During February half term, Bournemouth and Poole College was proud to host the NHS’ Children and Young People Services event at our state-of-the-art Health and Care Academy.

In partnership with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust, the two day programme welcomed Year 12 and 13 students from across the region, showcasing careers within Children and Young People Services.

The event provided students with a valuable overview of the wide range of roles available within the sector, from entry level and registered positions to long term career pathways.

Being selected to host this event is a proud moment for our Health and Care Academy and reflects the high regard in which our facilities are held by our valued partners in the NHS. Our Academy offers a state-of-the-art learning environment for students studying Health and Care professions, with industry-standard equipment that provides hands-on experience with medical technology, responsive manikins and care simulations. It houses a four bed hospital ward simulation suite; a one bed clinical skills suite, a care suite with a kitchen and bedroom, and three refurbished classrooms.

Working closely with the NHS, we play an important role in helping to build the workforce of the future. Together, we are proud to showcase the wide range of roles available within the health and care sector, opening students’ eyes to opportunities they may not have previously considered.

At Bournemouth and Poole College, we remain committed to working alongside trusted partners to deliver exceptional training opportunities that meet local workforce needs and create clear progression routes into employment.
