Airports and Airlines

Watch your career take off!

Gain industry skills in world class training facilities

There are many interesting career opportunities within the airline industry. Air Cabin Crew Training and Airport Operations are two of our most popular and exciting courses.

Air Cabin Crew

This course will equip you with everything you need to know to get your career as cabin crew off the ground.

With access to world class training facilities both on-campus and with either British Airways or Virgin Atlantic, you will be put through your paces just as if you were already part of the crew.

You’ll be introduced to your role in safety and emergency procedures on an aircraft, food and drink service and also food safety. Our own cabin training room is fully equipped with seats, overhead lockers, trolleys, and more - just as if you were on an aircraft. This allows you to fully experience the skills required as a member of air cabin crew.

You will wear an airline style uniform and adhere to strict airline regulations, including making sure your shoes are clean and your shirts/blouses are ironed. As Air Cabin Crew you are the face of the airline, so these are the kinds of things you would be expected to do in a real job.

You'll also receive first class customer service training in our award winning Escoffier restaurant.

Airport Operations

As ground-handling staff, you are the front line of airport operations.

Handling anything from organising ramps on the runway to working on a check-in desk, you are an integral part of keeping things running smoothly.

Covering everything from health and safety, aviation communications, security and airport baggage, this course equips you with everything you need to thrive in this fast paced environment. We make sure that you are fully prepared for work in the industry.

Alongside your studies you will complete work experience at our local airport with Swissport, a major ground handling agent. This might involve shadowing Swissport staff, meeting and greeting passengers, observing checking-in processes and boarding flights.

Not only will you spend study time at Bournemouth International Airport, but visits to other UK airports are part of the course with the option for a day return flight to a UK destination.  You will wear an airline style uniform and adhere to strict airline regulations, including making sure your shoes are clean and your shirts/blouses are ironed; the things you would be expected to do in a real job.
