Creature Designer and Special Effects expert comes to the college to give inspiring workshop

On Monday 16th October, Pete Tindall visited our HND VFX and CGI students to share with them his creative knowledge and experience he has learnt in industry.

Pete has had a successful career in the film industry after graduating from AUB in 2003. His career has involved working in prosthetic make-up and creature design and construction in some of the best-known films and TV shows including the new Star Wars Han Solo movie, Jurassic World Part 2, Blade Runner 2049 and the new live-action Dumbo directed by Tim Burton. He has also worked on productions such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Batman Begins and Doctor Who.

At Pete’s visit to The College, supported by the tutors of the VFX course students learnt about the background of creature design and why it is still an essential part of VFX industry. Pete also helped point students in the right direction to find inspiration for their own designs. Throughout the day Pete showed off his raw talent in a demo and speed sculpt which was followed by a sculpting session for students.
