Course Overview
This four week course ,is offered on a day release, once a week at our Poole campus. Candidates will cover learning that will enable them to improve confidence and decision making in adopting and procuring AI solutions, and maintain robust governance of these solutions within the context of their own organisation
Evaluate AI solutions and vendors using structured criteria following organisational process (cost, performance, risk, data readiness).
Make procurement decisions based on testing, benchmarking and user validation following organisational policy and process.
Assess risks associated with AI acquisition, including vendor lock-in, data, IP, and sustainability.
Design and implement AI governance frameworks, including roles, responsibilities and escalation pathways.
Embed ethical, legal and regulatory considerations into AI decision-making processes.
Define assurance and compliance processes, including documentation, auditability and transparency.
Design and implement human oversight mechanisms for AI systems.

This apprenticeship unit is for individuals in leadership roles responsible for shaping, influencing, or supporting decisions about the adoption of AI systems within their organisation. These individuals, with support of their employer, need upskilling in adopting AI systems and governing them responsibly. It is suited to those involved in evaluating options, developing business cases, and establishing governance and assurance approaches for AI and digital technologies.
Candidates must be working in a leadership position within an organisation with autonomy to deliver technological change and inform investment decisions. This is a Level 5 aim, so we would expect the candidate to have a minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent, and a good level of English and Maths.
Mandatory: As a minimum, learners will need to pass a skills test delivered by the training provider, to demonstrate that they have acquired the skills and knowledge set out in the apprenticeship unit. Employers will need to validate the result to confirm the learner has been successful.
Experience in leadership roles responsible for shaping, influencing, or supporting decisions about the adoption of AI systems within an organisation.

Government funding of £750 is available through the employer Apprenticeship Service Account.
If the employer is a levy payer and has insufficient funds in their levy account a 25%
