College Hosts Annual T Level Health Meet the Employers Event
Our September 2025 intake of first-year T Level Health students took part in a fantastic Meet the Employers Event, building on the success of last year’s event.
Students met partners across the local health and care sector, including: NHS Dorset Healthcare (Occupational Health), Luxurycare, NHS University Hospitals Dorset, NHS Dorset Healthcare and Partners in Care.
Students had the chance to take part in a ‘speed networking’ style session – asking questions about work experience placements, exploring the realities of healthcare roles, understanding the importance of Occupational Health and getting to know prospective employers.
T Level Health student, Joe said: “From my perspective, I thoroughly enjoyed the employer event and thought it was extremely helpful in providing us with information around our possible future employees. I am completely thankful for this experience in my first year of T Level Health, so I can ask questions and gain a wider insight into the course.”
T Level Students can now benefit from the newly renovated T Level Health and Care Academy, featuring industry standard equipment that provides hands-on experience with medical technology, responsive manikins and care simulations. It is made up of a four-bed hospital ward simulation suite; a one bed clinical skills suite, and a kitchen and bedroom with three refurbished classrooms.
Francesca Potton, Fundraising Officer at Diverse Abilities who supported the event, said: “I had the most lovely afternoon speaking to first-year students all about Diverse Abilities and all the different roles we can offer. The students were engaged, interactive and a pleasure to speak to.’
She continued: “I am absolutely blown away by the health and care simulation rooms at Bournemouth and Poole College. The simulation rooms allow students to learn on interactive mannequins in like-for-like environments such as hospital wards and care home settings. What an incredible experience to offer the students which in turn will allow them to flourish in exceptional workers in the health and care sector.”
Louise Garner, Director of Learning for Science, Care and Health said: ‘The event was a huge success and we’ve had great feedback from both students and employers alike. The event helped our students to grow in confidence, ask thoughtful questions, and reflect on the exciting career pathways available to them.
A big thank you to all of our employer partners who made this event such a valuable experience for our students.’
