Bournemouth and Poole College, in partnership with Bournemouth University, proudly celebrated the achievements of their Engineers who recently completed their Degree Apprenticeship qualifications.

The graduation ceremony, held on Wednesday 5th November at Bournemouth University, marked an important milestone for both education providers as we continue to shape the region’s future engineering and manufacturing talent.

The event showcased the combined strength of academic learning and real-world industry engagement. The accomplishments of Lucas, Cassidy, and Robin, all of whom completed their apprenticeships with Charter Tech, exemplify how collaborative training between employers and educators equips learners with advanced technical skills while supporting Dorset’s engineering sector.

The three Charter Tech engineers each reached significant academic milestones:

Cassidy completed her HNC in Electronic Engineering, demonstrating exceptional technical growth throughout her time studying at Bournemouth and Poole College.

Lucas earned his Foundation Degree in Electronic Engineering, successfully balancing demanding academic work with expanding responsibilities within Charter Tech.

Robin achieved his BEng in Electronic Engineering at Bournemouth University, becoming Charter Tech’s first full graduate to progress entirely through the company’s apprenticeship programme. A milestone for both the organisation and the education partners who supported his journey.

These achievements reflect years of commitment, practical learning, and continued academic development. They also highlight the vital role that Bournemouth and Poole College and Bournemouth University play in providing high-quality apprenticeship routes that meet the evolving needs of local industry.

Charter Tech’s Managing Director, Duncan, attended the ceremony and praised both the graduates and the education teams who supported them:
“All three of our engineers can be proud of their fantastic achievements, as all of their colleagues are of them. They have all put in a great deal of effort on their studies and other learnings during their apprenticeships, and this has really paid off. Special congratulations to Robin as he becomes the first graduate from our Apprenticeship programme – and I wish him every success in his new role as one of our Projects Engineers.”

The success of Lucas, Cassidy, and Robin is a strong testament to the power of modern apprenticeships and the value of collaboration between education and industry. As demand grows for skilled engineers across the region, Bournemouth and Poole College remains committed to supporting learners at every stage, from first steps in technical education through to advanced qualifications and employment.

Their achievements stand as an inspiring example of what can be accomplished when students, employers, and educators work together with a shared commitment to excellence.
