The Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills is a nationally recognised qualification designed to develop your ability to support others through effective communication, active listening, and ethical practice. With rising demand for skilled individuals who can provide emotional support, particularly in areas such as anxiety, bereavement, trauma and life transitions, counselling skills are more vital than ever.
This course is ideal for those working or volunteering in roles that involve supporting others wellbeing. You will explore a range of practical counselling techniques and gain an understanding of key theoretical approaches that underpin professional counselling practice.
If you are passionate about helping others and would like to develop your skills further, this course offers both a respected qualification and the foundational knowledge needed to progress in the counselling field.
Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills has professional endorsement from ACCPH (ACCPH is an independent professional body and register for counsellors, coaches, psychotherapists, and hypnotherapists in England). On completing this course, you can join ACCPH as a member and be eligible for certain benefits.
This qualification carries 24 UCAS points. Please refer to the UCAS website for further details of the points allocation and for the most up-to-date information, as this could be subject to change.
You will be assigned a personal tutor and provided with a learning account containing your study materials and assessments. All work is submitted via our online platform, eAssessor Pro. There are five assessed units, and you will receive ongoing feedback from your tutor as you progress through each one.
You are allocated 4 weeks to complete each of the 5 assessments. Assessments are untimed, allowing you to complete as many or as few questions at a time that suits your own pace of learning. On average, you’ll need to set aside 5 - 7 hours each week for self-study over the 5-month programme.

Whether you’re interested in learning for work, career progression or self-development, our range of nationally recognised courses provide a flexible blended approach to your learning.
For each qualification the learner receives a learning account, which contains all the theory and knowledge a learner will need to achieve these Level 3 qualifications. We use an online learning platform known as eAssessor Pro to submit your answers to the course, the course is broken into topics/sections and you submit your studies to your assessor for feedback as you work your way through.
This course is suited for learners who have already completed counselling skills training (e.g. the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills or equivalent).
As part of the entry process, all applicants are required to complete a short exercise by answering two questions from the course.
Please ensure you have a suitable device to study the course on, such as a desktop or laptop computer, to allow you to view your learning account and type answers with ease.
You will be provided with an interactive learning account, containing practical advice and guidance to aid your learning journey. We use an online learning platform known as eAssessor Pro to submit your written answers, all of our online courses are broken into bite-sized topics/sections and you submit your studies for feedback and guidance as you work your way through your chosen course.
Please don’t worry, there are no exams! Plus, you will be supported from start to finish by one of our online course tutors, who are industry experts in their own specialised fields.

While it does not license you to practice as a counsellor, it enhances your professional skillset and is an excellent step for those seeking to progress in sectors such as health and social care, education, voluntary support work or customer service.

Who is eligible for funding:
aged 19 or over, and a UK resident.
Plus, ONE of the following:
• earn below £25,750
• or are unemployed
• This is your first full Level 3 qualification (or above).
Learners aged 19 to 23 who have not previously achieved a full level 3 qualification or higher are fully funded, regardless of the earnings threshold or employment status.
If you are not eligible for funding for this course, you can opt to pay our course fees in full at the time of enrolment, or if you prefer, you can choose to pay in interest-free instalments. In this event, you would set up a Recurring Card Payment (RCP) plan when you enrol (subject to conditions), which will allow you to pay equal monthly payments. Please be aware that the payment plan cannot exceed the term of the course.
