Course Overview

This Electrician Plus pathway is designed for qualified electricians wishing to top up their CPD on new Green technologies for the design, installation, inspection and maintenance of Solar PV. Also covers Battery Storage and Electric Vehicle Installation systems, whilst observing the needs of a Retrofit environment, or fitting systems to existing building infrastructure as opposed to new build.

  • Basic Principles of Domestic Retrofit Installations- checking specifications, implicatons of construction types
  • Solar Panel Installation- understand the installation, commisioning requirements, health & safety and handover
  • Health & safety for environmental & legal considerations
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Points-install, inspect, test, legal and regulatory, health & safety
  • Electric Energy Storage Systems - types,install, inspect, test, legal and regulatory, health & safety

     

Qualified Electricians over the age of 19 with NVQ Level 3, Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Gold card or equivalent.

NVQ level 3 in Electro technical  competence or equivalent, Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical, Gold card or equivalent.

Q&A sessions and mock tests at the end of each modules and 1:1 with tutor, EAL exams to be passed before the end of the programme.

Working as qualified electrician either employed or self-employed.

Discussed individually with the tutor depending on learning and development needs.

Increased contract value work, progression with employer to inspector role, more domestic installation job work opportunities. 

Employers with less than 250 employees £350 (10% of full cost).

Employers with more than 250 employees £1,050 (30% of full cost).

Parking off campus on the Wednesday attending.

Please bring your lunch and refreshments. Parking is not available during term time on the campus.Attendance on consecutive Wednesdays for eight (8) weeks in mandatory with this programme.

This programme is co-funded by the government skills Bootcamps programme and as such will require evidence of outcomes and opportunities gained from the Bootcamp.
