College Students Celebrate Success at the BAHA Hospitality Awards
Three talented students shone at this year’s BH Area Hospitality Association (BAHA) Awards , held at Bournemouth’s Hilton Hotel on Sunday, 5th October.
Sophie took home the top honour, being named ‘Hospitality Student of the Year’, with Joshua and Finley recognised as impressive runners-up.
All the nominations reflected an inspiring journey of change and determination. Sophie’s story stood out for her remarkable growth — from a quiet student to a confident, driven learner and supportive role model who excels both academically and personally.
Joshua was recognised for his outstanding turnaround in attitude and performance, showing renewed focus, motivation, and a deep commitment to personal growth. Finley’s journey demonstrated the power of resilience and the importance of finding the right environment to thrive. Initially unsure of his path, he discovered a passion for hospitality, becoming a dedicated and enthusiastic learner who shines in both his practical work and teamwork.
Nikki Knights, Learning Manager for Hospitality and Catering, Beauty Therapy, Media Make Up & Hairdressing said: “All students representing the college symbolised the values of resilience, curiosity and dedication to learning. They showed us the enthusiasm, progress, and aptitude they take to their learning journey. A very well done to all and especially to Sophie for her utmost commitment to achieving her goals.”
