College Celebrates Dorset Apprenticeship Awards Success
Bournemouth and Poole College is proud to celebrate another successful year at the Dorset Apprenticeship Awards, marked by a fantastic achievement for Apprentice William Trowbridge, who won Intermediate Apprentice of the Year.
William, a Level 2 Fabrication and Welding apprentice with Heatric (Parker Hannifin), was recognised among an exceptional group of finalists at the prestigious ceremony. The event brought together dignitaries, sponsors and business leaders, with keynote speaker Sonnaz Nooranvary, of the hit BBC Show The Repair Shop, alongside speeches from Deputy Lieutenant Cleeves Palmer DL and Superior Seals Ltd Managing Director Tim Brown.
The awards showcased the remarkable achievements of apprentices across Dorset, highlighting both individual excellence and the strong commitment of employers to developing future talent.
Bournemouth and Poole College was particularly well represented, with four finalists shortlisted:
- Emily Stanford – Excel Energy Ltd
- Nathaniel Gillman – Eaton
- Peter Spurr – Dorset County Hospital
- William Trowbridge – Heatric (Parker Hannifin)
Dorset Chamber Chief Executive Ian Girling praised the high calibre of entries, commenting:
“It was a difficult choice to select the winners from another exceptional field this year, once again demonstrating employers’ commitment to training and the immense talent among Dorset’s apprentices.”
Representing the college at the event, Julie O’Carroll said:
“We have had a fantastic year for our candidates, culminating in this well-deserved recognition for William and our three other finalists. He and his fellow apprentices have worked incredibly hard, and we are immensely proud of their success – from having four finalists shortlisted through to this outstanding achievement.”
The awards were delivered by Dorset Chamber and the Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network (DSTPN), with sponsorship from Superior, and they celebrate the dedication, achievements and impact of apprentices and supported interns across the region.
Bournemouth and Poole College is proud to work in partnership with these organisations, with long-standing support from Superior helping to nurture apprentices for many years.
