How to Apply

Study with us

Our courses fill up fast so don't miss out.

Don't wait until you have taken your exams or are finishing school to apply, as this may be too late and you could be left disappointed. If you do better than expected with your GCSEs, then we can discuss a different level course with you when you come to enrol. The same applies if your results are not as good as predicted.

We'll work hard to support you as you gain your qualifications and will help you leave college as a mature, confident young person with a great future ahead of you.

Apply at any time of the year

It's better if you apply for a college course up to 12 months before it starts. The majority of Full-Time courses start at the beginning of the academic year, each September (but there are other courses that start at other times, including Apprenticeships).

Search for a course you're interested in studying and apply online. It's simple! We've pulled together this handy application handout to help you on your way.

Making an enquiry

You can contact The College on 01202 205205, at any time to request a course guide, ask for specific course details, make an application or be referred to The Careers Advice and Guidance Team.

When you make an enquiry, we'll take some details from you such as date of birth and contact information. We may also ask what area or subjects you're interested in (if you know) and then we can keep you updated with any exciting news or developments.

Your application

As soon as we receive your completed application form, our Admissions team check it, and will acknowledge receipt of it within 7 working days.

We'll then invite you to attend an interview/audition within the next 2 - 4 weeks. We'll inform you of the venue, the date and time of your interview/audition and what you should bring with you (e.g. some courses require you to bring a current portfolio of your work).

The interview is a two-way process. A chance for us to get to know you and assess your suitability for the course, and an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

At this stage, if you meet the entry criteria, we'll offer you a place. Your offer may be dependent upon your examination grades if you haven't yet obtained them.

During August (just prior to the start of your course) we'll send you an enrolment pack. This will give you details of when to come into college to enrol and what to bring with you.
