Students with Disabilities

Get the best start to your future

From smaller class sizes to specialist equipment, The College can provide the support you need to enable you to progress in education.

Learners who have disabilities and who are able to enrol direct onto mainstream provision will do so with individually-assessed support. For other students with moderate or severe learning difficulties/disabilities (M/SLDD), The College has a number of pathways into discrete provision. This enables each individual learner to progress with their education.

The College's Entry & SLDD provision is well run, with the best possible care for all learners. There is a good staffing ratio with small teaching groups and learner support. The curriculum is very lively and we make the most of the local community facilities.

Where appropriate, some learners may have the opportunity to undertake work experience supported by our personal tutors. This support is vital in helping learners prepare for life beyond college. Other real life experience includes the cafe run by students for visitors and staff.

  • STEPs - Entry level courses for learners with moderate or severe learning difficulties and disabilities for ages 16 – 24.
  • Pre-Vocational Programme - A one year course with possible progression to a second and third year aimed at school leavers with moderate learning difficulties or additional needs.
