Learning Environments

Information at your fingertips

The Learning Environments are here to help you successfully complete your studies.

The Bournemouth & Poole College Learning Resource Centre North Road

The Learning Environments are comfortable and friendly spaces which provide access to resources and support for students and staff.

As well as a large collection of books, the Learning Environments provide access to a virtual library of high-quality ebooks and journal article databases. You can access these online resources from your own computer, tablet or mobile phone, or from any of the Windows PCs & laptops, or Macs, available in the Learning Environments. You can also access the internet, use Microsoft Office or other specialist software, print assignments, or photocopy.

Staff and students can search our resources, both print and online, via our LE Moodle pages (College students and staff can log in to use).

The team are very friendly and highly skilled at helping you find what you need. Once you’ve found it, they’ll also help you figure out what to do with it!

We can help you navigate the library online Look4 catalogue, (or old Cirqa catalogue), ebooks and databases, and find your way around our shelves.

State of the art facilities

Environments created with you in mind!

The Bournemouth & Poole College Learning Resource Centre North RoadOur Learning Environments at Poole (North Road) and Bournemouth (Lansdowne) were created with students at the heart of the design. We’ve adapted the space to make sure they cater for all your learning needs.

There are different learning zones to suit whatever type of work you’re doing. You can either work on your own or collaborate with others on projects. We have also created curriculum clusters, where small groups can go to study while having all the information at their fingertips.

Our IT suites, project rooms and pods are kitted out with the latest IT equipment and presentation technology. We’ve even set up integrated re-charge points for you to keep your batteries topped up!
