Course Overview

  • This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to plan, organise, supervise, and manage construction projects effectively. Covering key areas such as construction planning, site management, health and safety, construction technology, leadership, legal and statutory requirements, quality assurance, and cost control, learners will develop a strong understanding of the principles that underpin successful construction delivery. The course also enhances employability through CV writing, interview preparation, digital skills, and professional communication, preparing learners for supervisory and management roles within the construction industry.It will help develop practical skills in planning, site organisation, H&S, people management, construction technology and costing. 

Unit 1: Planning Construction works

Unit 2: Organising and controlling construction works

Unit 3: Supervising Health and Safety, wellbeing and Environment of Construction Works

Unit 4: Maintaining the Dimensional Accuracy of Construction Works

Unit 5: Working with people on a construction site

Unit6: Supervising construction works to existing buildings and structures 

Unit 7: Supervising the construction of new buildings and structures 

Unit 8: Costing and Estimation 

This course is designed for construction employees, supervisors, or people moving into construction. Age 19+, living and working in the Dorset area.

Expected to have experience in the construction industry and have passed a Level 2 qualification.

Assessment is summative and formative, during each module there will be Q&A, peer-to-peer discussions, presentations and work submissions.

Expected to have previous work experience in the construction industry trades or built environment.

This course can progress to the Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship.

Site Supervisor, Site Manager, Site Technician

Employers with less than 250 employees £350 co investment will be invoiced per candidate nominated, which is 10% of the full cost.

Employers with more than 250 employees £1,050 co investment will be invoiced per candidate nominated, which is 30% of the full cost.

Attendees need to provide own lunch and refreshments, and pay for parking close to the college.

This programme is delivered over eight (8) consecutive Wednesdays, and is co funded by the government skills boot camp funding. Employers and applicants are expected to provide evidence requested for funding purposes about their learning journey and outcomes to grow their business and opportunities.
