Information at your fingertips
The Learning Resources Centres (LRCs) are here to help you successfully complete your studies.
The LRCs are comfortable and friendly spaces which provide access to resources and support for students and staff.
As well as a large collection of books and DVDs, the LRCs provide access to a virtual library of high-quality ebooks, e-journal articles, and other databases. You can access these online resources from your own computer, tablet or mobile phone, or from any of the 75 Windows PCs & 80 laptops, or 8 Apple Macs, available in the College libraries. You can also get IT help, join the College wifi and access the internet, use Microsoft Office or other specialist software, print assignments, scan or photocopy, in the LRCs.
Staff and students can search our resources via the VLE and library catalogue. We can help you navigate the libraries, find your way around our shelves, and explore our online resources. Qualified LRC staff also deliver sessions on research and referencing.
What we can do for you
The LRC team are very friendly and highly skilled at helping you find what you need. Once you’ve found it, they’ll also help you figure out what to do with it!
State of the art facilities
LRCs created with you in mind!
Our new LRCs at North Road and Lansdowne were created with students at the heart of the design. We’ve adapted the space to make sure they cater for all your learning needs.
There are different learning zones to suit whatever type of work you’re doing. You can either work on your own or collaborate with others on projects. We have also created curriculum clusters, where small groups can go to study while having all the information at their fingertips.
Our IT suites, project rooms and pods are kitted out with the latest IT equipment and presentation technology. We’ve even set up integrated re-charge points for you to keep your batteries topped up!

What else you need to know
Open five days per week, you can borrow up to twelve items from the LRCs at a time. Loans are available for one or two weeks and can be renewed twice, and renewals can be requested in person, over the phone, via text message, by email, through logging into the library catalogue, or via our App. Because of this, overdue fines are easily avoided!
