Theatre Technician


Born and raised in Bournemouth, Dan decided to go into technical theatre from a very young age. Dan joined The Bournemouth & Poole College in the September of 2009 on the BTEC National Diploma in Production Arts Course in which Dan gained triple distinction. Dan then studied Stage Management and Technical Theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, specialising in lighting, and graduated in 2014.

Dan started his professional career as a freelance Lighting Technician and Designer. His most recent credits include Production Lighting for Before I Leave (National Theatre Wales), Technical Manager for Belonging (Re-Live), Re-Lighter and Technician for The Glass Menagerie and The Royal Bed (Theatr Pena) and Re-Lighter for Dawns Ysbrydion (Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru). Through Dan’s freelance career he spent most of his career touring productions around Wales. Dan’s most technically challenging production was Beneath The Streets, a collaboration with Hijinx Theatre and Punchdrunk, which was nominated for a Wales Theatre Award for Best Lighting 2016.
