This course aims to give practical, on the job training that will help prepare you for your career in the engineering field. You will develop Engineering skills and improve your confidence, effectiveness and efficiency in the business environment.

To do this course you should have...
You should a minimum of 2 GCSE passes or successful completion of a Foundation Learning programme at Entry Level 3. Applicants should demonstrate an active interest in working in an engineering environment.

Sujects studied will include:
- Communication skills
- Engineering machining
- Fabrication
- Fitting using hand skills
- Health and safety
This will enable you to make a choice of area in which to specialise at Level 2.
You will also study Functional Skills at an appropriate level.
