In brief...
The Pearson Edexcel suite of BTEC Nationals are changing from September 2016. The Extended Diploma consists of 18 units over 2 academic years.
Who is it for?
Two-year full-time course covering the skills and knowledge required for learners to progress to employment within the engineering sector and which also meets entry requirements in its own right for learners wanting to progress to higher education in engineering and related degrees.
What courses can I do after this?
On successful completion you could progress to full-time higher education for a degree or seek employment/apprenticeship as a technician in the electronics industry with opportunities for further part-time study on an HNC/Foundation Degree.
To do this course you should have...
You will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and maths grades 9-4 (formerly A*-C). Alternatively successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification and have achieved a Level 2 Functional Skill in English and maths.
