The Course

In brief... 

The apprenticeship is designed to develop a broad range of skills. This course aims to give practical on the job training that will help prepare you for your career in the engineering field. You will develop Engineering skills and improve your confidence, effectiveness and efficiency in the business environment.

Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged 16 - 24 looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college just one day a week.

An Apprenticeship in Engineering will develop your employability skills and give you valuable experience of a variety of engineering related activities. You will be working in a workshop environment where your duties could encompass many areas of the work. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.

On successful completion of an Apprenticeship in Engineering (Level 2). You could progress in your chosen career onto an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering (Level 3).

 

What do I need to apply

To do this course you should have... 

Good GCSE's in English, Maths and Science are desirable, however all applicants are encouraged to apply and suitability will be determined at interview.

You must have good practical skills and work carefully and methodically.

Applicants should demonstrate an active interest in working in an engineering environment.
