Finding and applying for work experience roles can be a daunting process, especially if it will be your first professional job. At Bournemouth & Poole College, we have a team of Work Placement Officers who work across curriculum areas to support learners in gaining these valuable positions.

The Bournemouth and Poole College takes pride in its team of teaching staff, many of those have a wealth of industry experience in the industries students aim to work in in the future. Offering continual professional development benefits both the staff and the students, allowing our teaching staff to follow best practice and offer the best possible education and training to our students.

Owen Davies, a lecturer in the Engineering, Marine and Motor School, recently completed his Diploma in Education and Training (DET) Apprenticeship alongside working at The College.

Celebrating International Women's Day at the College

Every year, people across the world come together to mark International Women’s Day on the 8th March. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and promote the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, but it also marks a call to action for gender parity. 

According to the World Economic Forum, sadly many of us will not see gender parity within our lifetimes and it may not be achieved for over a century. There is urgent work to be done and we all have a part to play.

Bournemouth & Poole College Students’ Union (BPCSU) is award winning and offers a range of opportunities throughout the year that you can get involved with.

Due to COVID-19, BPCSU are unable to host their traditional Freshers’ Fair this year, but they didn't want to let that ruin the fun. In its place, they are hosting a virtual BPCSU Welcome Fest instead!

Firstly, let me introduce myself. I'm Zach Rumble, Student Union Vice-President of Equality and Welfare for the past academic year, and President-Elect for the year coming, as well as a trans man.
