Around 100 people attended a presentation evening at Bournemouth & Poole College to celebrate the completion of the Applied Science student project, which saw them undertake the exhumation of graves in the grounds adjacent to the former United Reformed Church in Pokesdown.

Sixth Form students were given a unique talk when Holocaust survivor Henry Schachter shared the dramatic stories of his childhood, and how he survived the Second World War despite being born in Berlin to Jewish parents in 1939. Our A Level history students, who have been studying the twentieth century on their course, were also able to talk directly to Mr Schachter in a special question and answer session following the talk.

As the world celebrated International Women’s Day last week, Level 3 Art and Design students from the College attended Poole Museum to see the unveiling of the ‘Her Stories’ project, a temporary display which they had they played a significant role in helping to create.
