Georga Turner a Level 3 Level 3 BTEC Computing student has been selected to be part of the newly formed Digipigz, an innovative idea set up by Liz Lean PR’s youngest member of staff and Account Executive, Leila Willingham.

Georga who is keen to get more females into technical subjects said “If I could inspire and be a role model for one girl, I’d be very happy.”

Georga outlines how she fell in love with coding, getting involved with Digipigz and the course she’s studying at the college.

Bournemouth & Poole College has embarked on an exciting new partnership with local celebrity chef, Sarah Ali Choudhury, to host two new Indian cooking hobby courses.

Former college student, Sarah Ali Choudhury, is an accomplished celebrity chef and TV personality who has built a reputation for delivering simple Indian dishes which don’t compromise on taste. Sarah is endorsed by the Tesco Eat Happy Project and The Children’s Food Trust. She is also the winner of the Influential Woman of the Year award from the 2017 Venus Awards.

The Roche Court Educational Trust New Art Centre in Salisbury was the venue for the regional finals of the ARTicuational Prize 2018. Ashleigh Smith a Level 3 BTEC Visual Arts Extended Diploma student delivered an impressive presentation on Jean-Michel Basquiat's 1988 painting 'Riding with Death'.

How does travelling the world touring with top bands and artists using your skills to help deliver world-class performances sound? Well two former students are doing just that and have worked with some pretty impressive names too.

Phil Mead and David White both studied BTEC Performing Arts (Technical Theatre Production), now called BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Production, before going on to work in venues and for festivals across the county and they have never looked back!

Students from the Construction Department at Bournemouth & Poole College celebrated National Apprenticeship Week 2018 by getting involved in a variety of trade-based activities.

Companies including Velux, Greendale Construction, The SAMME Project, Porotherm and Akzo-Nobel Paints (Dulux) were on hand to provide demonstrations and taster workshops to give students an insight into different trades. Over the course of the week activities included:
