Update: Latest Advice on COVID-19

Important Update: Current COVID-19 Guidance

With government advice surrounding COVID-19 continually changing, we all have a part to play and our individual actions continue to be extremely important in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

This guidance is subject to change without notice, so we encourage all members of The College's community to regularly check the website for updates.

Masks or face-coverings

Masks are no longer recommended. Those that wish to still wear a mask can of course do so.

Testing

It is helpful that you continue to take your COVID-19 home tests. More information on testing can be found at thecollege.co.uk/testing

Hand Sanitiser

Please continue to practice good hygiene. Hand sanitiser will be placed at all entrances and you should use it when you enter a building.

Minimising spread

Please still be cautious when meeting in social spaces. Social distancing is still advised. Please meet in fresh air as much as possible and open windows in enclosed spaces to let fresh air through to minimise spreading of infections.

COVID-19 Symptoms
The main symptoms of COVID-19 are:
  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot, for example for more than an hour; or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
Self-Isolation

Self-isolate straight away and get a PCR test as soon as possible if:

You may need to quarantine when you arrive in England from abroad. Check the quarantine rules when entering England on GOV.UK.

When you do not need to self-isolate:

If someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, you will not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply:

  • you're fully vaccinated - this means 14 days have passed since your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccination given by the NHS
  • you're under 18 years old
