Bournemouth & Poole College’s Student Union is delighted to announce that Zach Rumble has been elected Students’ Union President.

For the past year, Zach has represented his fellow students as Vice President of Equality and Welfare and has already done some amazing work for the College. Supporting the Students’ Union’s outgoing President, Gabriel Baraldi, Zach has contributed towards the Green Agenda, increased communication between the students and their representatives, and helped with wider promotion of the Student Union.

Zach is planning to build on the work he has already started over the last year, as well as working on the following:

  • To work on community building both within the college and throughout local organisations/companies
  • To ensure every student feels heard and accepted at college
  •  To build a strong union of executives and leave a lasting legacy

Zach will officially take post as President of the College’s Students’ Union in August 2020. When asked about being elected as President, Zach said: “I feel very privileged and glad to be in this position, having watched my predecessor and friend Gabriel lead the Students' Union this last academic year.

“During my term I plan to achieve a lot, but the few main ideas they centre around include maintaining the sustainability and environmental progress we have made at the College, and create more visibility of the SU over different platforms. I also want to create a community environment within the College so every student knows they are heard and their input is listened to.”

Brian Stewart, Student Engagement Co-ordinator at the College, said: “We’re delighted that Zach Rumble has been elected as next year’s Student Union President. We’re confident that Zach will be a brilliant representative for our students and will continue the excellent work he started as Vice President.”

Zach recently wrote a blog for the College about the importance of equality and diversity, which you can read here.
