Students create virtual end of year Art and Design show

Art and Design students came up with a creative way to showcase their work in an end of year Art and Design graduation show.

After their annual end of year Art and Design graduation show couldn’t go ahead, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students pulled together to create a virtual show. Hosted online, Art and Design students at the College can upload their artwork to an online gallery.

Featuring photography, fashion and textiles, graphic design and fine art, the virtual show is a brilliant opportunity to showcase the incredible work students have continued to do throughout the year, despite challenging circumstances.

The show has also been featured in University of the Arts London’s Origins Creatives.  Origins Creatives celebrates the next generation of creatives by enabling them to share their ideas, their successes, their failures, and to show others how they have developed their creative practice over their time studying on a UAL Awarding Body qualification.

Stuart Palmer, Head of Art and Design at Bournemouth & Poole College, said: “Bournemouth & Poole College is the FE destination of choice for students who want to study art and design. We are extremely proud of our track record of success in turning art and design education into careers. The virtual gallery showcases some of our students outstanding work from across the curriculum. A key indicator of our student’s commitment to innovation is that our students took the initiative to create their own virtual end of year show to celebrate their creativity and resilience at this challenging time. The students at Bournemouth & Poole College are the most important part of our success story.”
